We do. Misty Farris, Laurie Meggesin and Janice Robinson Pennington are three English majors who packed up a shared love of reading and writing along with the earnest desire to help people and headed to Austin, Texas for the University of Texas School of Law. After law school, we took our innate talents and academic successes to Dallas, Texas, where at a prominent plaintiff’s firm, we found a place where we thought we could make a difference in important products liability and environmental litigation on a national scale. We envisioned ourselves assisting innocent and hard working plaintiffs who’d been victimized by the excesses of corporate greed. And though we accomplished that in the larger picture, the real flesh and blood people we helped on a daily basis were the firm’s highly talented and extremely effective trial lawyers who needed someone to handle the motion and appellate practice for which they had neither the time nor the inclination. While there, we also put our writing skills to use by drafting content for the firm’s websites, authoring articles and opinion pieces (including ghostwriting for other attorneys), drafting press releases, and producing text for marketing materials like firm brochures and client newsletters.

Now we are partners with Brent Rosenthal at Rosenthal Pennington, LLP. In addition to our appellate and legal issues practice, we remain very much interested in helping other lawyers to create the kind of web content, blogs and other written materials that are necessary to attract business in the first place.
